Is it normal procedure to be discharged from hospital, the same day as gall bladder removed?
Know someone without medicaid or private insurance and this happened to them on Friday. I saw him today and he looks awful. Been through that surgery myself but it was a long time ago.
22 AnswersSenior Citizens1 decade agoHave you noticed younger teens making out at the Cinema, to be offensive?
To me, it is bad manners, husband and I went to see Star Trek on Mem. Day evening at 10PM and the cineplex was nearly empty. We were in #1. Costs 8.25 per person to get in. There were about 11 thirteen yr. olds in the theater, 2 pair were making out, 3 boys were making balloons of a birth control item and tossing them around. Another teen was texting. One teen had his size 13 shoes up on top of the seats. No assistant manager. The only person in charge was a teenager. I am sending correspondence to the owner of the chain of theaters because when I go to see a movie, I don't go to see that stuff.

13 AnswersSenior Citizens1 decade agoWhat would hasten a Lacey Japanese Maple into losing it's leaves this early in the season?
Needed re-potting, but was doing fine. When I planted into the soil, discovered a red ant nest at the bottom of the pot. Have planted within 5' of rosebushes. Are the roots of roses bad for Maple trees?
The leaves withered and only a few live ones remain in the center of the tree. The tree is about 4' high and branches spread from trunk 4'each side. Happened within the past week.

17 AnswersSenior Citizens1 decade agoDon't ya just love that P.U.M.A, by GM/Segway?
Goes 35 mph and seats 2. Personally, I'd rather have a Bumper Car-Remember? We used to drive them into each other at the amusement parks. If I'm gonna drive something slow, might as well be fun.

11 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoAre credit card companies hurting future profits by raising finance charges of credit worthy customers?
Before Capital One and Chase stuck it to some people I know, Advanta has done the same with small Business accounts, which are about 75% of their business.
I'm thinking when the stinky stuff starts to hit the fan, the credit card companies are going to regret what they are doing because they will end up with only the desperate as customers.
Have any of you thought of sending complaints to your state's attorney generals office? A great many of us in Missouri have.
10 AnswersSenior Citizens1 decade agoWhat animals, native to Australia, are "Bum Breathers?"?
According to an article I'm reading in the magazine "Wildlife Conservation", April 2009, one is named after the renowned Crocodile Hunter-Steve Irwin. As far as I'm aware these species of Bum breathing (cloacal respiration) animals only live in Australia.
The animals are considered at risk because of future dam projects.

5 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoWhich has best chance of accidental damage, garage door(not fully open), or side mirrors attacking garage?
As the garage door opened today, heard an unusual sounding thump. Went to observe what happened, husband was standing outside and the guard for the bottom of the garage door was on the floor. He said,"The door wasn't open far enough when I pulled the van out." He drives a small car and plays chicken with the garage door on his side every day but it doesn't work like that with a large vehicle. Anyway, my side of the garage has been backed into, mirrors have snapped off and I 'm sure, one of these days I will pull in the garage too fast and lose a mirror too. Does any of this sound familiar to anyone else?
14 AnswersSenior Citizens1 decade agoWhat heartfelt statement can encourage a person who has lost a son/daughter to suicide?
I'm asking for several people. The question could be for any relative/friend, lost to suicide.
Loved ones tend to blame themselves, or society places stigma on the subject, in general.

6 AnswersSenior Citizens1 decade agoEver had a curious child or Grandchild stick a bean, rock, etc. in the nose? Info below may be useful.?
Our daughter stuck a small piece of rock in her ear when she was 3. Looks like the Granddaughter is carrying on the tradition, only it's a bean in the nose.
Our son tried to remove the bean with a pair of tweezers but was afraid of lodging the bean deeper so he took her to the ER.
This was their very simple solution. The doctor told him to hold the empty nostril closed(while the child lies flat) and blow in her mouth. So my son gently explained to the 3yr. old that he was going to blow in her mouth to see if he could make the bean fly out her nose. (He asked her first.) The bean went flying across the room.
Lucky for our son that the Granddaughter told him she'd put the bean in her nose and it was hurting because our daughter didn't tell us about the rock she'd stuck in her ear. It had been in there for several days and she developed a high temp of 105.
The bean came from a Sunday School project at church.

Scientists are unsure if the bird is living or extinct because it has been sighted in several states, notably-Arkansas and Florida but was thought to be extinct. Searches of several forested areas where the bird could possibly be found are currently in progress. Someone has offered $50,000.00 to anyone who can show scientists a living specimen.

18 AnswersSenior Citizens1 decade agoDo family members have requests you may wish to respect when purchasing holiday gifts?
At 2 of our Children's request(the request is for all relatives), 3 of our Grandchildren don't get toys but instead the parents accept us donating money to any charity in the child's name, purchase items for needy, we can add to child's education fund, purchase books, outside children's furniture or we may send educational kits and items that are age appropriate. The grandchildren have plenty of play items.
Our request is: no dust collectors.
