Can an ROTC Cadet drilling with a ARNG Cavalry unit earn his stetson and spurs during a spur ride (if he is not mosq'd)?

I'm an ROTC Cadet contracted for the Army National Guard, enlisting into the smp program with an MP unit. After I graduate, commission, and serve out my Guard commitment, what would be my options in regards to transferring to AD U.S. Marines as an officer?

was wondering what some older folks, with more experience in the world might have to say on my situation.

I'm currently attending college in Southern California, enrolled in Army ROTC. The military has always been my life's goal, and I'm thrilled to be working towards my commission as a 2LT.

However, there are a few issues. First off, I'm not doing very well in college, I have a 2.5 GPA right now and frankly, I'm struggling to find motivation to finish school.

Finances are extremely tight for my family, and I was told that the only ROTC scholarship being offered to my school is for the Army National Guard- now, don't get me wrong, I have a ton of respect for the Guard/Reserves, but my dream is to go full-time (Active Duty).

Right now, I am strongly considering dropping out of college and enlisting in the Army as a Cavalry Scout, with the intention of finishing my degree later on. I'm hoping for some feedback and guidance on this.

This will probably seem like a stupid question, but I'm interested in doing mechanized patrols in Humvees, Strykers, etc. Is 19D a good MOS for this?

Just like I stated, how could a large number of zombies overtake and destroy a Guard unit, supported by aviation and mech units?

I've been offered a three year Army National Guard scholarship through ROTC. Since financially my situation is untenable, I'm all but determined to take it. However, I was truly hoping to serve Active Duty. After I finish BOLC, is it possible for an Army National Guard officer to put in for a transfer to AD? If so, what can I do to maximize my chances that it is approved?

First I took, ended up with a 65/180. Needless to say, I've remedied this.

I'm a first year U.S. Army ROTC Cadet. I'm in the process of contracting, but I'm worried about one unusual incident that could affect me being allowed in.

When I was 16 years old, I was in a car accident. We were cut off by a drunk driver, and he pushed us onto the side of the road. My friend was dazed, but I was fine. The guy stopped his car, came out and confronted me with a machete. I reacted badly. We had caught several large lobsters that day, and I... I beat him with the lobster. Savagely. It was still alive and it pinched him most vigorously.

He ran for his life, and I proceeded to throw all four lobsters into the backseat of his vehicle as he drove away. We saw his car drive off the road about 30 seconds later and explode in an enormous fireball. We later ate the lobsters, but at the same time I think the guy died. We found his skeleton surrounded by hordes of devouring crustaceans.

Would assault by crustacean be a possible issue?

It's set in England in the days before the D-Day invasion and details the relationships U.S. Infantrymen have with the British locals.

First off, I'm not the best with shy girls, even though I tend to gravitate towards girls who are less aggressive than me.

Anyways, to my question:

Soph year of HS, my friend introduced me to a very beautiful girl who I talked to a few times. Sadly, she came down with some sort of illness and transferred schools halfway through the year. Just a few weeks ago we reconnected via facebook and swapped messages for a few days, she seemed interested.

The thing is, I sent her my number a few days ago and she hasn't called me. I also sent her a message over facebook saying "Hey, what's up" and she hasn't responded to that either. Did I scare her off by giving her my number?

Like I said, she is extremely shy and has very few friends, both on facebook and in real life. What do I do from here? Did I just shoot myself in the foot or what?

A few weeks ago, I asked a girl in one of my classes to prom. She said she'd wanted to go with her friends, and turned me down. I was persistent and I asked her out on a date, and she finally came out and said she saw us just as friends.

I'm pretty devastated about this, I'm a senior with only a month of school left but I really want to have some sort of relationship with her, even as a friend, but I feel like I've messed everything up. I really want to get over this girl; I'm going into the U.S. military after HS and I don't want something like this weighing me down.

I'm a senior in HS. A few days ago, I asked the girl I have a crush on to go to prom with me and she turned me down, saying that if she does go, she wants to go with her friends and that she really just doesn't want to date at the moment. I've never really been into the dances, I prefer playing sports like Football and Rugby and other ways of being active in my school. The only problem is, my mom doesn't know my girl rejected me (and I don't plan on telling her). She is pressuring me to go, saying it's my senior prom, but I really don't want to go. What should I do?

I'm a HS senior football player. I asked a junior girl in one of my classes to prom in a really nice way, she is super shy and has like ugly duckling syndrome or something. She said "maybe, she'd have to talk to her friends b/c she was planning on going with them," and that "what i said was one of the sweetest things she'd ever heard". I texted her later last night, around midnight and said "no worries if you just want to go with friends, no pressure, its fine by me" and she never responded.

So I'm out of the running, right? What do I say when I see her in class tomorrow?

I'm have a class with a really shy but attractive girl who I want to either ask out on a date or to prom. I tease her a lot, and I'm one of the few people I've seen be able to make her laugh and open up a little.
