my internet browser jumps up and down when I click on anything. how do I stop this?
This is a Dell laptop which is two years old and I am using IE 10. When the browser 'jumps' the clicks do not register. Sometimes this problem will go away if I click on another program and then go back to the browser IE 10. Sometimes I have to force the program to close. Closing other windows does not seem to help. This is my work computer, so I do not have control over security.
1 AnswerOther - Internet7 years agoWhat will remove an oily patch from the back of my dog?
I think this oily patch of skin is due to her flea medication. Normal dog shampoo does not remove it well. She went to the groomer and only the surface was fully clean. It is very waxy and sticks to your hands. 70% alcohol helped, but I cannot use this on her regularly.
2 AnswersDogs8 years agoWhy does my dog have an oily patch of fur in the middle of her back?
I thought it was because of her flea medication and inadequate baths. She is 12 years old and this has never happened before. However, she went to the groomer and was very clean-- for two weeks. I made sure I put the flea medication between her shoulders last week and not in the middle of her back. Now she is oily in the same spot. Her skin looks fine, just oily. The only change in her life is a switch from frontline plus to a generic flea med and she had a fluid filled cyst on her throat aspirated recently. I do not know how long she had the cyst, so I cannot say if the problems coincided.

Over time my favorite sweater has gotten a bit smaller. And no, I have not gained weight. I think I let it soak too long last time I hand washed it.
9 AnswersCleaning & Laundry1 decade agoAre setup.exe files the actual program? Can I delete setup files after I install a program?
I seem to recall that a setup.exe was not the actual program, but I am not sure. With so many upgrades to old programs I have a lot of setu. exe files.
6 AnswersSoftware1 decade agoHow do I stop my 7 month old puppy from shredding dog beds?
I put a foam pad in her crate and she shredded it . Now she sleeps on towels. She has not touched the two dog beds in the den. However the outdoor beds are a problem. She took the stuffing out of one and chewed on the other bed. For a while I kept putting the stuffing back in. The other two dogs do not seem to mind. Since the weather became cold last week, I put a new bed in one of the dog houses and new bed on the porch. She shredded both to usless pieces. I put bitter apple on them, but it did not prevent having clusters of fluff all over the lawn. She shreds soft toys, so I take out the squeakers, This helps them last a bit longer. I have told her "bad" and shoved bits of stuffing in her face several times in the past few months. I can't catch her in the act! She only likes to chew fluffy toys, sticks and rawhide. This is getting expensive!
4 AnswersDogs1 decade agoWhere can I find a comparison of hot water heaters?
I want one that is very insulated as the washer and dryer are in the same room as the water heater, and it gets rather hot in there in the summer
4 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoBacksplash for kitchen needs to be replaced. Any ideas?
The kitchen really needs to be totally remodled, but we have not decided to stay here long enough to justify the cost. So expensive ceramic tile is out. I read that vinyl peel and stick tile will work, but I am concerned about cleaning it.
4 AnswersDecorating & Remodeling1 decade agoCan tile adhesive be removed? This is brown adhesive used to attach plastic tile to a backsplash.?
It is brittle but mostly firmly stuck to the raw wood plank wall. It does not dissolve in hot water like mastic. If I can't get it off, then what can I cover it with? The surface is very uneven. This is a backspash area and I do not want to take off the counter top, if possible.
2 AnswersDo It Yourself (DIY)1 decade agoDo home kits to refinish tubs work well?
My tub is severly pitted and stained. Will the kits they sell in home store give good results and will they last? It costs about $400 to have a professional do it. I cannot find any one to put in a plastic tub liner.
3 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs1 decade agoHow to repaint kitchen cabinets that have fake wood grain finish?
The prior owner 'antiqued' the painted wood cabinets. It looks like she painted a glaze over the paint and then brushed off the excess. What is the best way to degloss and repaint. this was probably done in the early 1970s

6 AnswersDo It Yourself (DIY)1 decade agoI want to paint my kitchen terracotta-coral (Devine"Glow"). What color should the cabinets be?
the Devine web site does not have accurate colors,at least when viewed with my monitor. I have a can left over from my prior house and I would like to use it in the kitchen. The kitchen is dark, so I need a light color. Also, what color for a backsplash?
