I have been reading a lot on how renaming a boat is bad luck, but it says nothing about names that are actually bad luck. (Except Friday)

I am not a superstitious person, but I plan on getting a tall ship and would want to follow all of the traditions. For a name I was thinking maybe Nyx after the Greek goddess of the night.

Does naming your boat after a god or goddess cause bad luck? (Like cutting your hair aboard a ship at sea?)

I applied to be part of Adsense with Google to find out that I had apparently made an account with an email that is most definitely not mine. What is this issue? Is it with Google? I have never had an account before and this is really quite frustrating.

I have read up a lot on longboards, and although i know what I'm looking in terms of the characteristics of the board, i don't know which brands to look at or which decks will be what I'm looking for.

I'm pretty set on a low flex 40" drop through deck, and I'm trying to keep price as low as possible without skimping on things that won't break.

I'm not going to be doing sliding, mainly just "commuting" or cruising, but there are some hills around where I live, so I'm not looking for a board for flat areas. Sector 9 I've been told by a few people is pretty good, but I try not to be brand-myopic.

Trucks, wheels, and bearings aren't an issue, as they have less factors and i know what I need.

I'm a bigger guy (6'1", around 200lbs) so that may play a factor.

What are some decks that would be good for me?

My cat was walking across my keyboard and decided to lay down on it. Upon doing this, there was a loud beep, and the sound cut out of all my applications, even though the output is still saying i have audio.

I run my audio out of a Firepod, so i first checked if that was the case. But it was working and saying it was receiving and outputting a signal as well, set as default as usual.

What did my cat press to do this?! muting then un-muting doesn't work, and no sound is playing out of anywhere.

Hello, i have owned a Canon HV20 for a while, and for the last year or so, when i attempt to capture video through the DV out of the camera into a firewire port into my computer, the system crashes, usually completely freezing up, the only fix being to manually turn off the computer and restart.

This isn't a problem with the program, because the symptoms are universal. I have tried Sony Vegas Pro 9, Premiere Pro CS4, and even HDV Split, with the same symptom.

I do not have $1,700.00 for a MiniDV Capture deck, and i need HD capability as well as 24p capable.

How do i fix this, or what is generally cheap that could help me out?

the camera has no driver updates for my OS (Vista HP)

When it comes to DJing, I'm pretty new to it. (I'm not talking about mixing, although i have dabbled in some) and i am unfamiliar with the top songs that are played in a DJ's set (Office party/wedding) because i mainly focused on electronica and metal music in my personal life.

What are the top 10 albums i should get to start out a set, and give the crowd what they want?

I'm not closed off to any genre, but i would expect there woulden't be much of any rap (i know that songs like sexy back and all are requested a lot so popular stuff is alright)

I know i need a lot more music, but i want to get some feed back from the point of view of people playing the music, so i can put on a better show.

My band is in need of a monitoring system, and i can't seem to find a mixer that has 4 sends/Aux Outputs that is under say...$400.

We want to hook up 4 monitors (for the vocalist guitarist and bassist) and from what ive seen, we need 4 sends on the mixer we hook it up to. (I may know what I'm doing with recording, but live audio goes over my head|)

Is there a well priced mixer for what we need?

I Have been looking around, and i can't find any programs (Plug-ins or full programs) that you can control pitch and key without a MIDI controller.

Most Virtual instrument VSTs i am pretty sure need a MIDI Controller.

I'm running Vista 32bit.

Does any one have any suggestions?

I have been playing bass for about 7 years but now that i am being needed for a vocalist in my new band (i also sing, get that!) i have found it hard to find good songs with generally simple bass lines that aren't to hard to sing at the same time.

i understand how hard it is to play bass and sing, and i already have learned a few songs that aren't to difficult, like Tom Sawyer by Rush.

also, this is a metal band (i know rush isn't really "metal" but it is a good song) so are there any heavy songs that are also easy to play while singing?

Hey, I have been with my girlfriend for just about 2 years now, and i can't think of what to get her.

and before anyone mentions sentimental things and how you don't need to spend a lot of money, i understand. i already have some things planed that will mean a lot to both of us and hopefully make her christmas more special.

but im looking for something to surprise her with. but something not too expensive (under $100, budget is tight) and i want something that will always remind her of me.

I was looking at some cheaper Diamond necklaces, but they are a bit to pricey for me.

what can i get my girlfriend that will make her christmas just a little more special, and still not break the bank?

Hello, today i got a 9 week old kitten (Sky), and got her vaccinated and tested for a few things, all negative. but she isint eating her food we have given her, and she is only drinking a little milk. We have had her for about 7 hrs and all she has eaten is a little steak (that was in quite small bites so she did not choke)

She is used to eating the dry food that we have given her, so would this be a side effect of the vaccinations? or is this a depression from bbeingsseparatedfrom what she is used to? And what can i do to get her eating again?

well, i am getting an Xbox 360 and although i could plug it into my router, i don't want to stretch 200 feet of cable through my house.

i don't want to lag while i am on xBox live and am wondering how well the adapter works, and if it is worth the 99 bucks for it.

i have a new model netgear wireless router and comcast high speed internet, so i know this is possible.

ok, this might sound weird, but earlier i made some Tempura, or basically deep fried stuff. and now i have this grease/oil smell in my hair, and its making me sick to my stomach. is there anyway i can get this out without having to take the time to take a shower (im not saying i like being dirty, but i don't really have the time to take another shower)

no first let me start out, I DO NOT want ear buds. around ear or on ear is what im looking for

now, i have had a pair of Sony MDR-V150s for about a year, and they are wearing out and one of the connections to the right side is cutting in and out. so i figure its time for a new pair.

ive looked around, but i haven't been able to find a good pair that weren't ear buds. (allot of people like them, personally i don't)

i want a good pair with decently loud output, and for under $30.00 USD

Anyone have good suggestions or links? im not in despreate need, but i would like to know what is out there, and what other people use
