  • May I have some advise about a negitive entity spirit vessel?

Say someone is a collector of haunted vessels, many taken from paranormal investigations or old estates. They are clairvoyant and well experianced with ghosts/spirits...even having dispatched dangerious demons for others many times. However, they recently came across an urn vessel containing the ashes of a once terminaly ill black arts practioner, that not only killed her dog just to take with her in the ash mix, but forced her specific instructions on her frightened family in her will; leaving them nothing of her estate assets.

The collector feels like this ghost is ignorant/confused and that perhaps there is a way to save her. They believe everything happens for a reason, but this ghost is trying desperatly to attack the spirit of the collector. They want to help this headstrong, power hungry ghost, but will not stand being assulted with negitive energy for the sake of the ghost's controlling personality.

So, what should they do, promptly get rid of this intelligent haunting? Seal it away? Destroy it? Or try to turn it around?

  • Doing a line edit for a friend and I got stuck on a sentence. Any ideas?

So, I was in the middle of this action scene I was line editing for a friend and I need a simile.

Their howls and snarls rolled towards them, along with the pounding of hefty paws. Teeth like well used bear traps clicked amid savage hunger, in the force of their rush. Then, behind these hounds, the shadows of the horrors to come were reviled.

“Bring em on! The more the merrier.” He brought forth teeth of his own.

“How can you stay so calm in the midst of all this, Pen?! Aren't you scared?” Leah almost sounded insulted, *as if somehow made inferior, because she had voiced her fear.--

    * This is the line I need the simile for. "Leah almost sounded insulted, like a..."

  • Why do they say the fastest sport-bikes are dangerous for inexperienced riders?

So, I was at the bike shop and a GSXR 1300 really caught my eye. It fit around me like a glove. I have driven other bikes, including doing some serious dirt biking, just no crotch rockets. However, the lady at the shop insisted that I look at something with 1000cc's, or less; hesitantly at 1000cc's. She said that if I didn't have much experience, with these kinds of bikes, that I should start with something smaller. I only want to buy one crazy cool bike though; not buy an extra one to get me there.

Then also, I have hear this before. What would make these bikes dangerous for someone that has never ridden a crotch rocket before? I figured if I jumped on it like an idiot and hammered down, then yes, I probably deserve to crash. What if I took it easy, at first, until I got used to it though? Is it something that is hard to hold onto? What are the things that I would not understand that would affect my own safety?

  • What would be a nice gesture, or gift to offer a Wiccan priest after a home cleansing?

I have recently moved to a new residence and have asked a local Wiccan priest to come over and preform a home cleansing. I was just wondering if there were any traditional ways to show my appreciation for their services?

  • Please help me get hip with new xbox 360?

So I just bought a used Xbox 360 S 250GB HD from a private seller. He has a gold account with 560 points that is still on there, along with another (a friends I guess), that expire on 6/6/12. I made a profile but some of the options are not available in the settings menu, like accounts and privacy. I was needing to know how to make it mine, so to speak, and get rid of those old accounts. I asked him to call and cancel his account, but that has yet to happen, and I also restored the machine to factory defaults.

Second, what is the "most" private was to make a live gold account? I am big on privacy and do like to give away my personal information. No Facebook, etc., EVER! Would it be best for me to buy one of those cards from a retail store? I just want to watch Netflix without telling Microsoft my blood-type, whilst their Kinect camera is watching my living room. And I though Windoze was bad with their "user data files" that save as much personal information to your computer HD as possible.

    Thanks.

  • Readers, I have dialogue preference question?

How do you feel about interjections and literary ejaculations in dialogue?

In case you are not familiar with what I am talking about, they are words like Argh, Um, Ah, Oh, Woe, etc.

Do they add to the talking, or distract from the story?

  • Could I use a Verizon version of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus on a European network?

Okay, so I have been thinking about upgrading to a better phone and I have my eye set on a new Samsung Galaxy Nexus. I work as a foreign national in western Europe and I know that the unlocked version of this phone will work overseas. I have been wondering two things though.

The first one is: Is it possible to use this phone somehow on two different continents without paying an arm and a leg in roaming and long distance charges?

The second, and primary: I have read that the Verizon version of this model is a bit stouter of a phone. So, I was wondering if I unlocked this phone I could use it just the same as the pre-unlocked version?

  • How do I get a date with a Russian girl "in Russia"?

I am an American living and working in Kaliningrad, Russia. There are many beautiful women, but they seem to be very serious, almost mean. I think I will need to buy some nicer clothes for one, since I am not used to dressing as well as the people here do. However, it is extremely difficult to even order at a restaurant, for instance, since I don't speak Russian; but to find a companion..? Ouch. I have found out that many Russians speak a bit of English, but it takes some bring out, as they are not comfortable doing so. It's all very stressful sometimes. I try to be polite and friendly and strive to be a good guy, but I have not been encountering the friendly folks that I have often read about on the Internet before. Also, I tried a Russian dating site, but it seems almost pointless. Speaking English is one thing, but understand English writing is another.

And lastly, I have done my homework about Russian women as of late and understand their goals and values geared towards family and marriage.

  • If I went to Poland on a work visa, what taxes...?

If I went to Poland to work for two years on a work visa, and made $100,000; how much would I have to pay in taxes upon reentering the USA? And also, how much would I own to Poland during my stay, percentage wise? You see, a certain gentleman suggested it would be tax free. However, I know that nothing is tax free. Thanks.

  • How would I make changes to a friend's web page?

I have just finished learning about html programing and such. A friend asked me to edit some things on their web pages, since the gentleman that was maintaining them is no longer available, and I was wondering how this would be done. Will the script have to be changed and then re-uploaded to the host, or is there some way to access it otherwise?

  • What do you think of this beginning?

It started at one thirty on a cold Tuesday morning in January when Martain Turner, street performer and, in his own words, apprentice gigolo, tripped over a body in front of the West Portico of St. Paul’s at Covent Garden. Martain, who was none too sober himself, at first though the body was that of one of the many celebrants who had chosen the Piazza as a convenient outdoor toilet and dormitory. Being a seasoned Londoner, Martain gave the body the “London once-over”... a quick coat and shoes, had just pegged the body as a drunk when he noticed that it was in fact missing its head.

As Martin noted, to the detectives conducting his interview, it was a good thing he’d been inebriated, because otherwise he would have wasted time screaming and running about... especial once he realized he was standing in a pool of blood. Instead, with the slow methodical patience of the drunk and terrified, Martin Turner dialed 999 and asked for the police.

The police emergency center alerted the nearest Incident Response Vehicle and the first officers arrived on the scene six minutes later. One officer stayed with a suddenly sober Martain while his partner confirmed that there was a body and that, everything else being equal, it probably wasn’t a case of accidental death. They found the head six meters away where it had rolled behind one of the neoclassical columns that fronted the church’s portico. The responding officers reported back to control, who alerted the area Murder Investigation Team, whose duty officer, the most junior detective constable on the team, arrived half an hour later. He took one look at Mr. Headless and woke his governor. With that, the whole pomp and majesty that is a Metropolitan Police murder investigation descended on the twenty-five meters of open cobbles between the church portico and the market building. The pathologist arrived to certify death, make a preliminary assessment of the cause and cart the body away for its postmortem. (There was a short delay while they found a big enough evidence bag for the head.) The forensic teams turned up mob-handed and, to prove that they were the important ones, demanded that the secure perimeter be extended to include the whole west end of the Piazza...

  • How do I write a contest winning story that is only 5,000 words in length?

Now, I can spin off 20,000 words pretty quick, but it would only be a good start to a story for me. Please offer suggestions on how to write something so small in length that is still a good and gripping read. I have tried to put myself in the mindset of say, a TV series writer, and also though of keeping it down to one day of a character's life... but still. I don't know, please help my headache.

  • Does this piss off any other critiquers?

Okay, so you are on here, killing time, entertaining, waiting for the sleepy medicine to kick in, whatever... and you come across a question about a piece of writing in needs feedback. You are not one of those people that thinks the "Very Good!" thing helps anybody besides giving them an unneeded ego boast. So, you take the time and effort to look it over, with a careful eye, and probably because you think the writer is good enough that they deserve proper feedback to help them develop farther. However, when you go down there and click the 'submit' button it takes you to an error page and upon farther investigation you find that the question has been deleted! And perhaps you just spent the last twenty minutes working on you answer! Err!

By god, if folks ask for it, they shouldn't be a cream-puff about it when the truth comes out and run away to weep under the covers! Right?

I understand how some of us can be harsh sometimes, and maybe even half full of it, but...

What do you think about these things?

  • What do you think of this action scene I am having a hard time connecting with it for some reason?

‭ Then, something swam by, with size enough to create a wave through the water strong enough to shove everyone back.

“Steady--‎ ‏steady men,‭” D‬ario grumbled as t‭he heart shaking moan of some giant beast was heard. This time however, it was very close. “Steady…” They tightened their formation as large bubbles filled the water around them.

‎ “I do not like this at all!” Cayenne whispered.

‎ “No...” Sara agreed, “not at all,” and as they passed into a pocket of warmer water, the earth rumbled from somewhere below. Even though the queen was pleased that they had made it this far without being noticed, she knew that they were now entering into some of the most dangerous territory. “Alright… we are nearly there.” She led them slowly upwards.

‎ Then, from out of the blackness, a giant set of glowing, yellow eyes jerked open to shine down upon them! The colossal creature roared and bore down, with an open mouth filled of long pointy teeth!

    “Split formation‎!” ‏Dario shouted‭!

Sara threw herself down,‎ ‏barely missing the sea monster, tore her chain-n-hook weapons free, and pushed hard into making light‭! “‬We have been found‭!” The b‬right light allowed them to see,‭ ‬but they would have been better off not;‭ ‬for a host of gigantic beasts has awakened‭!

The massive Styxosaurus-like creature,‎ spun‏ and rushed their left flank‎! ‏It was over forty feet long.

‎ There, the slowest of the soldiers was claimed.

‎ “No! Come over here and get some, Nessy!” the queen taunted.

‎ “Regroup now! Regroup!” Dario shouted, pulling his men together behind the beast.

‎ The creature rushed the princess and she hoped she could time this right. “Come on!”

‎ When the titan opened its jaws, she back-flipped over it to sink her hooks into its neck!

‎ Its snarled, spiraled, and jerked its head!

‎ It took everything she had, but Sara held on, wrapping the chains around her wrists!

Four giant sharks went into a frenzy, forcing the guard to break pursuit and fight.‎ B‏igger then Great Whites,‭ ‬with thicker hide, they must be hungry‭!

    “Go for the gills‎! ‏Remember your training‭!” ‬Cayenne hollered.

Yet, two more of her squad were lost!

‎ Sharks fought over scraps when joined by two giant sea snakes! Another dolphin was lost, but a sharks went with him.

‎ Sara fought hand over hand until she reached her foe’s tough, scaly hide. The beast spun its flippers in figure eights, rocketing through the heavy water.

‎ She slammed the blades on her arms into the back of its neck! Her leg blade dug in and it sought to buck her off!

“What are we to do about these snakes sir‎!?” a‏ dolphin needed to know‎!

    Cayenne whipped up front,‎ ‏drawing the monster away.‭ “‬I got this‭! ‬Dario,‭ ‬let’s try to tie them together‭!”

    “Right‎!”

They whipped past one another, trying the impossible,‎ with no ‏choice‭!

Back towards them,‎ ‏the queen had made it under the creature. She repeatedly slammed her blades into its neck!

    ‎ D‏ark,‭ ‬thick blood filled the water.‭

    ‎ “‏Ah‭!” ‬She sliced and stabbed,‭ ‬as two more sharks joined the frenzy‭!

“Yeah‎! ‏Yeah‭!” ‬Cayenne and Dario swam away from a tangled mess of snakes,‭ ‬but found they were the only ones left.‭

“There is nothing we can do for them now.‎ ‏Hurry,‭ ‬we must aid the queen‭!” ‬Dario commanded.

‎ “Yes sir!” Her eyes widened. “Sir, watch out!”

He tried to move,‎ ‏but it was too late! A smaller shark took a chunk from his side‭!

    ‎ “‏Ah‭!” Dario‬ buckled in,‭ ‬with fear of death in his eyes‭! “‬Go‭! ‬Go and save the queen‭!”

    “Sir I‎…”

    “Now,‎ ‏that’s an order‭!” ‬He forced her to leave‭!

Filling herself with energy,‎ ‏the queen drew back to land the final blow‭! S‬he struck the nearly open neck of the beast!

It released a gargled scream, convulsing for a moment, then‎ ‏twitched to stillness.

    The other titans surrounded them‎!

However,‎ ‏when they saw the a larger meal,‭ ‬they disregarded the two appetizers.‭ ‬They nipped and nibbled,‭ ‬testing this feast and when they were sure it was dead,‭ ‬they tore into it without fear.

  • Do any of you Cristians know the differance between Shu'alu, Sheol, Hadies, and Hell?

Also, do you know who Lilith is? Or have you ever read The Book of Jubilees, or The Book of Enoch? Farthermore, do you know what the word "pseudepigrapha" means?

  • How can I be less intemidating?

Now, I am a really big strong guy. I have trained in the martial arts for years and I am a very skilled fighter. There are many deep scars on my face. I have had stiches seven times, wires twice, and staples once, mostly from fights. Been stabed twice and beat a 90 lb. pit bull nearly to death, with my bare hands after he tore my bottom lip off my face. So yeah I'm not afraid of anything and I know people can sense that. However, I try to act very cool, calm and freindly with others. Nevertheless, when I approch somebody with a smile and nice cloths I get treated like I'm something very dangerous or poisonous. Once I get to know someone it's okay but wow it's hard.
