  • Do i need coolant for my central air unit if my compressor is replaced? ?

I have a central/heat air unit on my home. The air conditioning company that came out said we need a new compressor. That is covered under our warranty. They said we would also have to get coolant put in when i replaced the compressor. And that we would have to pay $750 for that. Does that seem right? Do you have to put coolant in when you put in a new compressor?

  • Horror movie with killer brother in woods?

I am trying to think of a name of a horror movie. I think it may have been around 10 years or maybe a little more since I watched it. I think I remember a bridge in it. And someone getting killed in the beginning. Later a group of teenagers are in the woods. They come upon a man who is chained up. I think its to a piece of farm equipment. They let him loose. And later come upon the brother. And he tells him that he had him chained up because he was a killer. I can't think of the name of this movie. I think it may have been low budget.

  • What happens if you stop paying a lease agreement, and a furniture payment?

My husband was out of work 3 months. And we are behind on mortgage, and all other bills. We put on for a modification. But since my husband is back at work they will not help us. So now they are saying they might do a repayment plan, which would double our payment. If that happens we can not afford double the house payment and our other bills. I hate to not pay and mess up our credit. But I don't want to lose our house. We have a furniture bill. And a lease item that is worth $400. And we also have an alarm system payment that we have a contract on. These would be 3 things we might start with. The furniture is a refrigerator that we need, and the lease is a water heater. Both things we needed. Has anyone had this happen, and what did you end up doing? We don't have any family to help us out.

  • Trying to decide what bill I need to pay.?

I've had a lot a financial problems this year. It all started when my husband was out of work for 5 months due to unexpected illness. And I was the only one bringing in income, supporting 3 people. Well as soon as he went back to work, we paid our car taxes. Then we found out that the state issued a new law where you now have to pay ahead. So then they said we would have to pay next years taxes to get new tags. So our plan was to do it the next week. Then our refrigerator went out. So we had to get another one. then the next week we had someone break in our home. So we had to pay to fix the door. So two weeks ago our water heater went out. So now here we are needing to update our tags still. Well I took a class last semester. I finished the first part. And now the second part of the class is coming up. The class I'm taking will allow me to get a better paying job with higher pay and better hours. That way we could be in a position where even if my husband were to get sick again, I would make enough where we would be okay. I can get in this class or wait another 30 days to enroll in the second part. I know both things are important. So I have 2 options. 1) Take the money and pay for the class. I would be done 30 earlier and be able to get a higher paying job. And then get my car stuff done the following pay check. . 2) Pay for the stuff that needs to be done to my car, and wait 30 days to get in my class. I am between a rock and a hard place.

  • Purchased an item at a well name furniture store, and warranty was more than half the price of item.?

My husband went to get a tablet at a local furniture store. They also sell computers and t.v.'s. They had a good sale on a tablet. It was $258.00. When he got home I looked at the receipt. They told him a 1 year warranty was included. But his receipt says different. The added $130.00 for a 1 year warranty. I told my husband that was too much. That's more than half the price of the tablet! That's crazy!!! My husband wasn't feeling too well, so I think that's why he didn't double check the receipt before he left. I have never paid half the price of an item on a 1 year warranty. Has anyone had any similar experiences?

  • Better career move?

I am currently working full time third shift. Third shift didn't bother me that much until I had a child. Now I hate working third shift. And there is no opening for day shift where I work. So I'm going back to college to give me more choices. I have two choices. I am thinking about Medical Coding. Does anyone know if there are a lot of opportunities for working at home doing Medical Coding. My other choice is Medical Assistant. I have saw more jobs lately in my area for Medical Assistants. But I don't think Medical Assistant make as much money. Both these jobs would offer me better offers and shouldn't take much time for me to complete. Does anyone have any suggestions, or have any experience with either field?

  • Help getting my mortage lowered?

My husban has been out of work for 2 months due to back problems. I am the only one working now. So I am supporting 3 people. We recently submitted a modification. We were issued a trial period. We have until May 31 to decide if we are going to take it. The thing is its more than our current mortage. And we couldn't afford that. The home was purchased at $97,000 in 2009. I put a $20,000 down payment on it. So there is some equity. The thing is with him being out if work our credit has taken a hit. The house had repairs that needs to be done, but with our current situation we can't fix them. We are trying to decide what would be our best option. My first choice would be to keep the house. I am considering calling the mortage company to see if they can help us another way. Do you think that if we told them we have repairs that needed to be done to te house would help us or hurt us? Maybe if they think that they would get a lower price if we just walked away from it they might be willing to work a better deal for us to stay in it. Or do you think that would hurt is equity wise? If they could lower the interest rate that would be ideal. I had also thought about a short sale. Would I have more of a chance of getting a better deal if I mention a short sale? No rude comments please. I am struggling and stressing out about this already and don't know where to turn. Please help!!!

  • Mother in law being annoying?

My mother in law lives in the country. She was burning her trash in a barrel in her yard until someone told her that it was illegal to do it now. So she asked my husband months ago about bringing trash to our trash can. It was supposed to be temporary until she could get a service who picks up trash in the country to come to her house. Well want she does is wait and let it pile up. And I've been doing some Spring cleaning, so I've been filing up my trash can all the way to the top with just my trash. So they picked up our trash Monday. And when I went to check my trash this morning it is already full. And only two small 13 gallons bags are ours. And the rest is her big 30 gallons size bags. Her bags are always black, and we use the white ones, so I can tell the difference. And since our trash people don't get picked up until Monday. That means we still have 4 more days for our regular trash and any trash I get doing Spring cleaning. I came horn to find this this morning and I am super pissed!!! Anyone had this happen to them, and how did you handle the situation?

  • What happens if all 3 owners do not come forward to claim overpayment of a home lost to taxes?

Me and two more siblings inherited my dads home. We already had our own homes so it was hard keeping up with the upkeep too. I tried to get the other two siblings to help me sell it. But they are both lazy, and never would. They wanted to sell it, but they refused to help me. My brother hasn't even spoken to me or my other siblings in I've a year. He and his wife are big drinkers, so he's busy with that. So after not selling it, and not being able to pay the taxes, we lost the house for not paying taxes. Well, the county auctioned it off and sold it. I got papers in the mail yesterday telling me they there was an overpayment we were intitled to get. It had a place on their for all of our signatures. It said we had a deadline. But did not state it on the paper. My question is: if my brother wants to be difficult and doesn't want to go sign the papers, what happens then? Can I still sign and get my share? And if I am the only one to goes to sign would I get it all i no one else goes before a certain date?

  • What is a good solution to fix my financial situation?

Me and my husband are in a tough financial spot right now. We have more bills than money. We got behind due to different situations. Right now we have a mortgage, lights, water, and cell phones. Then we have added debt, which is what is the problem. We have a loan, a few pawns, student loan, doctors bills, a loan we are paying a family back money on, and a furniture payment. All the added bills come up to $564. We are overextended now. So we are looking for a solution. Our credit is also bad too. I thought we could work on trying to pay off the pawns with our taxes and any extra money we got in the next few months, and then work on the other bills slowly. But it always seems when we try to pay extra on something, something always comes up. Plus, that would leave us not being to put any if that money in savings. We are probulary getting back $900. The next solution I had was to look for a loan place that would finance us with bad credit. But the only thing is they would more than likely require collateral. I have a vehicle worth $15,000, that is paid for. $6,000 would pay off all our bills. So if we could get a loan for around $200 a month, I was thinking about this. We could pay this easy, plus it would boost our credit. But if something were to happen, I would lose my car. And them again they might not even give us a loan with the car as collateral, even if it is worth over twice the loan amount. But this would allow to put the $900 tax money in the bank, and start some savings. These are just some things I had in mind. In answering this question, please do not leave me any rude feedback. We got behind due to sicknesses in the family, which we could not have helped. I really need some helpful advice. I want to get out of this mess as soon as I can so i can be stress free.

  • People asking for money when they know you are struggling yourself-everyone's thoughts...?

Me and my husband both work to pay bills. He has been out of work with a hurt back. His job has no sick time, and we've been having to pay out money for co-pay and medicines. I was so stressed out about us not having enough money to pay our bills the other day I wanted to cry. And his mom was over at our house seeing how her son was doing. She knows that we are going to be tight with money for a while. Because I told her that we didn't know what we were going to do. She asks us for money every paycheck. But this time I thought she would know better. But I got paid and was talking to my husband tonight. He said he bought her medicines for her today. Here I am stressing and worrying about what we are going to do about our bills, and he turns around and gives her money. Then when I get mad. He says "I knew I shouldn't have told you". I'm not stupid I would have found out. I am so mad. I'm mad at both of them. I'm mad that she had the nerve to ask when she knew the situation we were in. And I'm mad at him for giving it to her, after I told him that we wouldn't be able to give her any money this week. What's everyone thoughts on this?

  • Do I have to report my mortgage interest statement if I am better off getting the standard deduction?

I am helping my mother in law with her taxes. I am doing the tax act program. She will be better off doing the standard deduction instead of itemizing. Do I have to put the mortgage interest statement in? I just want to make sure I do it correctly.

  • Mother in law used my toothbrush?

My mother in law was babysitting for me a few nights ago. When she got ready to leave her car wouldn't start. So she had to spend the night. The next morning I heard her in my bathroom spitting out several times in the sink, like she was brushing her teeth. She didn't bring her own toothbrush. Because when she came out she was empty handed. I looked at the toothbrush and it was soaking wet. She had used my toothbrush!!! All I could think was what the???? Is it me, or does it take a rude person to walk in someone's bathroom, and use someone else's toothbrush. From now on my toothbrushes are getting put up.....

  • Do I put my husband name on our taxes when it asks who is on the mortgage?

I was working on my taxes on taxact.com. I came to the part where I can claim my taxes an interest on our home. My name is on the paper that came in the mail. When I took out the loan only my name was on the loan, but he is listed on the title as well. Plus, we were having finance problems due to a sick child a few years back. We went into preforclosure. Well when we got those forclosure papers, they had "both" of our names on it. The reason I'm asking is that we are filing an injured spouse form as well with our taxes, and whatever credits my husband can get I want him to get so we can get more of our refund back. But I want to make sure it's all done right. So when it asks who can claim the mortgage interest me taxes, who can I put? Any personal experience or website links would be really helpful. Please, no comments calling me a deadbeat. My child got sick which we couldn't help. I am now in a repayment plan for my student loan, and we are up to date on our bills. But due to the fact that the student loans where already offset, they may still take some of our taxes this year.

  • How long would you give someone to pay on ebay?

I sold something on e-bay this past Sunday. Today has been 6 days since the bidder won the item. I sent a friendly reminder on Wednesday. It was just congratulating them on winning the bid. And then I never heard anything back. So Friday I sent another friendly reminder. I told them that they had won and that I could ship as soon as the payment was made. I still haven't heard anything back. Has it been enough time to start an unpaid buyer claim. Or would you give them more time? I had many people bidding on it, so if I were to repost it I know I can sell it to someone who might actually pay me for it. What would you do?
