  • Major repair two weeks after buying a certified preowned luxury car. Keep or Trade?

Only 3 weeks ago, I got a 2010 certified pre-owned car with 30k miles on it. Its a pretty sick car, and my dream brand, model, color and every toy imaginable. One week ago, and after only driving it for 400 miles, it broke down because of some recall work that was not done properly right before I go it (they have to check for recalls and fix them alongwith a couple hundred other check points and replacement parts if necessary before they can certify it). Long story short, they are replacing the cylinder head under warranty (usually like a $5,000 job), which is pretty much the top half of the engine to enure that I have no more problems. I don't know if I should feel good or bad about such major work being done to my car at such an early age and mileage. With the CPO I have warranty for 4.5 more years and 70k miles. Would you keep it or trade it ASAP?

  • I am always worried about getting fired. I'm about to buy a house and the feeling is even worse.?

During my last job I was promoted twice. In my current job that I've had for about a year now, I far outperform many others and have saved my company a ton of money. I am worried that something I screwed up on in the past will come back to get me fired or something. I never have a specific reason for my worry. My company is in great shape, so layoffs aren't a real worry. Why am I always expecting to be fired?

  • Is it stupid for a couple to have two of the exact same car?

We both drive black 2007 Audi A4s. Someone said it was really weird. We happen to not think its a huge deal.

  • Nags Head or San Diego for vacation?

One friend invited me and my fiance to a couples week at a big house in Nags Head, NC in early June. My fiance won't know anyone, but the people are good friends of mine I haven't seen in several years. There will be 3 other couples there. Should me a nice time full of grilling, fishing, and beer... but it won't be super sunny and hot like my fiance prefers.

The other offer is to stay with some friends for a week in San Diego that just moved from where we live. They are our favorite couple to hang with and we miss them very much. They only moved away about 5 months ago. They live 5 minutes from the beach there.

We can only choose one due to vacation time limitations. Which should we do. We have never been to either location. Ignore perceived cost.

  • Can you donate a kidney if you have a family history of diabetes?

My dad has diabetes and left it uncontrolled for most of his life. He how has kidney failure. Since his mom has diabetes, it seems as though I'll probably get it at some point in my life. I am very active, eat well, drink in moderation. If I am a blood and tissue match for my dad, would I even be allowed to donate since I may end up with the same problems later in life?

  • Is it ok to wear a high-end watch with a black face with dark brown shoes / glasses?

I ordered a black TAG Heuer F1. I have been wearing a lot of brown lately... oxblood brown shoes, belt, and glasses, and medium brown overcoat sometimes. Is it ok to wear this very nice black watch with all of this? I friend of mine who is very style conscious said the same matching rules don't really apply to watches, which is why you see people with the red and orange face TAGs a lot. What do you think?

  • Meet and Greet with the VP. Do I have the job?

I had an interview with a global company for a senior level job. I did extremely well in the interview and have plenty of education and experience. I jsut got a call from an HR lady who said they'd like to have me in for a second interview. She then continued to call it a meet and greet with a VP. Second interview sounds like others are in the running still, but meet and greet sounds like I'm their choice and they jsut want me to meet the VP so he can be sure. Do you think I have the job pretty much locked up?

  • Distorted red colors on HDTV

For some reason, the color red distorts on the HD channels on my TV. I don't think it's my TV, b/c when I pause the and rewind to the distorted graphic (i.e. the red ring on the olympics graphic), the distortion is there even in freeze frame? What is this??

  • Am I a jerk, or is she too needy?

She asked me, just after a 10am dentist appt (under local anestitia) if I would take orders and deliver food to her office for her and 3-4 coworkers. I said no, I had stuff to do, then she gets a bit of an attitude like I'm selfish. I then went directly to the mall, and bought a new belt b/c I forgot to put one on in the AM, during this time she said she had the food order covered. So, then I went to the food court and got a quick bite before finally heading back to work so my staff could go to lunch. In a conversation, I ended up telling her I went to the mall and got lunch, and she FREAKS out on me calling me a selfish jerk and every other name in the book. I jsut think it's rediculous and inconsiderated to even be asked to take orders and bring food for 4-5 people that I don't work with after squeezing in a dentist appt ,etc. Am I a jerk or is she been needy?
