The derivative of x^2+x is 2x+1, which is the rate at which y changes as x changes. But if you plug in 1 and 2 for x in the original equation, you get a change of 6 which is not the change of 2 in the derivative equation?

For next year I only want to take one AP course, Ap Calculus AB but my mom wants me to take AP physics and AP mechanics. How can I convince my mom? She keeps comparing me with a bunch of other Asian kids who are taking like 6-7 APs next year. Currently I m taking 3 APs this year and they are crazy time consuming... I don t want to repeat this again next year.

last year was hell, this year is going to be hell on steroids with 3 ap courses and the SAT/ACT. i need more timee. any comforting advice/thoughts. trolls welcome make me laugh and feel good about myself before **** hits the fan :((

Background story: I moved to America when I was 6 from China. During my early childhood everything was fine and cool.

However, as I grew older(16 atm) the world began to change. I've realized all of the Asian stereotypes and the expectations that American society places on the Asian-Americans. To make matters worse, I have an accent that I can't seem to remove. I just don't feel like I belong here in America. However, at the same time because of how early I moved, my Chinese isn't all that great and the fact that I've been in American for over half my life now I don't know if I belong in China either. I just feel like an unwanted ghost. The only family I have is my mother. My other relatives are in China and I haven't seen or heard from them in 10 years so I don't really consider them family. I can't even remember their faces and names. I just feel so lost and hopeless. Help?

Read it like 4 years ago so my memory may be off a little

Basically it was either 2 or 3 books in the series and it was about bats and it was fiction

the 1st was about a young bat who got lost from his pack and is trying to find his way back, he meets a girl bat and i think they make it pack.

the 2nd book(not sure bout this tho) was i believe when the pack gets captured by humans ? and they live in a happy place with food and water but somehow the humans were doing bad things?

the final book was when the young bat turns into an adult and is living happily with his family. something happens and somehow the father bat and his kid bat goes into hell or some place with fire and evil bats? the father sacrifices himself so the kid bat could get out and make it back. the ending was super sad because the father bat returns as nothing and watches over his family ;)

just thinking about all the **** i have to do is getting me depressed. i have to read 4 books, write 3 reports, and do a bunch of other assignments like WTF??? just today it took me like 1:30 mins to READ 11 FREAKING PAGES FROM MY AP BIO BOOK. and guess what the best part is IDK IF I EVEN UNDERSTAND MOST OF IT. LIKE WTF?!?! i feel like punching a wall right now or calling my future ap teachers and asking if i could drop out(of course my mom would never allow that). I already know next year is going to be hell and I just want to enjoy my summer but now i'm neck down with summer work... any tips to motivate myself because I just plain don't feel like doing this ****....
