Do I pay taxes on a deferred principal adjustment?
3 AnswersUnited States5 years agoMy mortgage was successfully modified through the HAMP program.?
The principal on the loan was reduced roughly $20K to be reduced $7K per year for 3 years. Will I have to pay extra taxes? I need to try to calculate to adjust my withholding this year.
Thanks!

2 AnswersLaw & Legal8 years agoWhy is my dog afraid to go to my moms?
I got my dog from a rescue when she was 3 in '05. She always enjoyed going with me to visit my mom. After a while my mom starting see a man (Gene) who eventually moved in with her. Now my dog is scared to go to her house. On our first visit after Gene moved in, he bent down to pet her and she peed on the floor (she has never done that). On our last visit, she didn't even want to get out of the car! When we are there, she will not leave my side and shakes almost uncontrollably. She is not afraid of men in general, she loves my husband. Any ideas?
3 AnswersDogs9 years agoOlder workers not respected?
After I lost my job (after 30 years) I got lucky enough to find a new job in my field at a big cut in pay, but I'm happy to have a job! It seems lately, I've been blamed for a few things that I really didn't do, I don't know who did it, but it's never a big deal. If I find a mistake made by another person, I fix it and move on. I'm not accustom to coworkers calling each other out, and it always seems to be the same (much younger) coworker. I keep my mouth shut for the sake of the team, I don't want to make waves but I'm trying to figure out why this is happening? Does it make that person feel superior? Should I respond when this happens? Or will that make it worse? I have a good relationship with my boss, but I don't want this to turn into a school-yard or "he said/she said" *sigh* not sure what to do.
2 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups9 years agoI have eye pain (like a muscle pain) when moving my eye.?
Ophthalmologist said my eye pressures are ok. Has anyone else had this problem, when I wake up in the morning is when it hurts the most and my eye is red. This has been going on for a few months. In the meantime I have been told I have a Vitamin D deficiency and chronic back and leg pain, tingling in my legs... (my Dr. wants me to go to pain management). Any thoughts or ideas welcome...
2 AnswersPain & Pain Management10 years agoOn my tax return, can I claim my husband is disabled, or just unemployed.?
His Dr. told him he is permenatly disabled, but he was turned down for Social Security disability. If SSD says he's not disabled can I still "select" disabled on the tax return?
2 AnswersUnited States10 years agoIs it common for doctors to put the elderly aspirin therapy even if they've not had a stroke or heart attack?
I noticed that my 78 year old mother has deep purple bruises all over her arms and legs. I asked her why and she said that the doctor has her on aspirin therapy. She has never had a stroke or heart attack, she's always been very healthy. Is this something that is routinely prescribed for HEALTHY older people... I'm really concerned!?! Thanks!
3 AnswersHeart Diseases1 decade agoPaying a Doctor bill monthly.?
I have a chiropractor account that began at $2450.00 I've been paying it down every month. I started paying $20 a month they told me that wasn't enough. I increased it to $35 then 6 months later they told me that wasn't enough. I've been paying them $50 a month for about 8 months, got my balance down to around $1600.00. Now they tell me that I'm not paying "aggressively enough" again and sent me flyer's for "financing option" companies.
When my injury initially occurred, they told me that the other drivers insurance would cover my bills. Then the told me that my insurance would cover it. Then they referred me to a lawyer that would not take the case... but all along the Dr. kept telling me not to worry about it. If I knew I would get stuck with this bill I would not have continued treatment... Anyway I've been trying to pay the debt as best I can, can they force me to pay more or force me to go through another company to finance it? I feel like stopping payments all together and tell them to send me to collections. Any advice?

In the USA and abroad, I'm curious.
The job market in Missouri is in dismal shape. More auto plants closing and now the InBev take over at Anheuser Busch.

14 AnswersPersonal Finance1 decade agoNational Treasure : Book of Secrets?
I just saw this movie last night. The President asks Ben to check out page 47 of the Presidents Book. When Ben meets the President at the end, they walk off to discuss what was on the page (47). I know it's leading up to a sequel, what do you think the next one is about, does it have something to do with the #47? Let's hear some speculation! Thanks!
6 AnswersMovies1 decade agoHelp for a ferel kitten.?
The house next to mine is abandoned. A ferel kitty has fallen into a sewer vent (6 inches wide and about 6-8 feet deep) I called the Humane Society, they had me call the Sewer Co, who told me with all the recent flooding their crews are too busy to rescue kittens. I took some clothes line and lowered it down and tied it to a fence post hoping it will climb out.
Can anyone offer any other suggestions that I could try?
Thanks!
