  • Are most cables that fit, going to work?

I have a hard drive a friend gave me about 4 years ago. It's a toshiba one. I only have a serial number to go by S/N: 0306253774. At the time i tried it and presumed it didn't work but i left it. The other day i got it out and had a brief connection, but lost it. Presuming the problem to be the USB cable i purchased a new one. However when that arrived it was the power light that had ceased to function. Leading me to believe that it's probably the adapter that needs replacing. Now, the adapter i have with it is

    Dura Micro Inc

    Model: DM5127

    Input: 100-240V~ , 50-60Hz 1.2A

    Output: 5V= 2A

    12V= 1.2A

    S/N: D206032504978

They don't seem to be easy to find, however there are adapters that have the same bit that connects to the hard drive on the end and i wondered if that would still work or do i have to stick with the same make and model?

    Thank you for your help.

  • Do egg allergies include all eggs?

My mum is allergic to chicken eggs. She's gotten to the point where she can no longer eat a chicken egg as a staple or as an ingredient. She also has a reaction if it's included in medications or coatings.

I'm curious to find out if anyone knows whether an egg allergy includes all egg types or could she possibly fair better with the eggs of another bird?

Also, if she can eat for example a duck egg, can duck eggs be used in place of chicken eggs for things such as cakes, sauces and coatings, etc?

  • Why is my lentil curry too salty when i didn't use salt?

I made a lentil curry for the first time tonight, but the taste was so salty i had to throw half away. I find it strange though because i didn't use salt. All i used was:

-Red split lentils, cooked until soft

    - Turmeric, Onion granules, Garlic granules and Madras powder (only a pinch of each as i was only making one portion)

    -1teaspoon tomato puree

    -1 vegetable stock cube

Can anyone help me figure out how not to have it taste so salty next time? Thanks for your help. x

Oh and PS; i omit vegetables because i'm a salad and fruit person and find the texture of vegetables very difficult to work with and also because in the case of onions and garlic it would be a waste to use them for the amount i'd need.

Thank you for your help. x

  • Should i still take my Tranexamic Acid tablets as directed?

Ok, about 2 months ago i went to the doctor over my depression and when she asked if there was anything else i told her about the really rough period i'd had that month. How i'd stopped breathing for a few minutes as a clot passed and i had a really bad cramp, how i was nearly passing out from the pain and was drip white and weak for the entire week. She told me that it could be a one -off but if it happened again to mention it at my next appointment. Anyway, it did happen again, and i explained that i'm used to painful and heavy periods as i've never had one of those happy ones off the adverts (not that i suspect anyone has) but only the last 2 had been this bad with no painkillers (paracetamol, co-codamol, ibuprofen and diclofenac '[not all at once]) taking anything away, hot showers doing nothing, hot water bottles doing nothing and the thought of food making me nauseous. I was worried for another reason, that my family has a few people diagnosed with endometriosis. The kind that ended up with them having hysterectomies. The youngest being only my age at the time. I'm 24 by the way. I explained that i'd tried contraceptives and that they didn't agree with me; i.e., some gave me PMS 24/7/365 and that wasn't fair on those around me and that others gave me 3 periods a month, as in 3 full weeks of bleeding. So, she told me to try taking Tranexamic acid on 3-4 of my heaviest days. My heaviest days being at the beginning that was no problem.

So, time comes around. I started at work yesterday, around lunchtime. I estimate that because i was fine at 10am when i had my break, but when i finished at 2pm, the evidence was clear I'd started. So as soon as i got home, i began the dose as the doctor suggested, following the recommended dose of 1000mg 3 times a day, 2 doses were only taken yesterday because of when bleeding began. When i changed my tampon for the night, i did notice distinctly less blood on it already. But when i woke up this morning and through the course of today there has been no flow at all. It seems pointless to continue taking medication for something that is no longer there but i'm afraid if i do everything will just pour out.

It's after hours now and my doctors surgery is shut, not that it's easy to get an appointment there anyway. But i was just wondering if anyone at all could help. I apologise if i've been too graphic i just didn't know how else to explain it. Thank you for any help you can offer. x

  • Is there any other reason for this; my only pinkish discharge?

Ok so, it's not impossible for me to be what everyone's mind jumps to, but the internet is so full of theories that are barely legible. So i wondered if anyone here can help.

I know i'm probably worrying over nothing, but here are the details.

    - My last period began on 16th October.

    - My periods are very irregular, to the point there is no set pattern between them.

    - I last had intercourse on the 11th and 12th October.

    - Neither of us are sure of our fertile status, because we have never conceived children.

    - He is 49 years of age, I am 23 (please keep your judgement as it's not valid in the answering of this question).

-Both he and i are clean, and up to date with doctors check ups.

    - I had a minor pink vaginal discharge on 10th November, the 1st one i've ever had. It was brief, I got into the shower after i'd noticed it and by the time i left the shower it had gone. It was definitely coming from my uterus, i checked.

I don't want to jump to conclusions, and i don't want to waste money on a pregnancy test at this early stage when it may even be too soon to tell. I just wondered if there could be more reasons for this one occurrence than implantation bleeding, based on the information i have. Especially since i have never experienced it before.

    Any help, is greatly appreciated.

  • What kind of hair care routine needs to be taken after stripping the hair?

I've dyed my hair so many times that i don't think it knows what colour it's supposed to be. It never seems to do what i want it to. But i can't afford to go to a salon.

However, i did notice the other day that Superdrug has an affordable Salon professional hair stripping treatment, which i'm considering using to sort it out. But before i do, i just wanted to know what kind of routine would i need to take after using it to keep my hair in a good condition. I already use shampoo, conditioner, and heat treatment sprays when styling. But i was wondering if there's anything specific to stripping i'd need to do.

And yes, i'm aware that the specifics of stripping the hair of colour does mean my hair will be damaged somewhat.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you xx

  • Urgent Internet help needed. "Wireless Network Connection Adapter is Disabled"?

Ok so i made a very big mistake earlier and accidentally deleted my Broadcom 802.11b/g WLAN. But i found the driver online and re-installed it. I thought this would be the end of the problem but no, Now it's constantly telling me that the wireless network connection adapter is disabled. I have gone into my network connections and clicked to enable it, but it remains disabled. Also, none of the local wireless connections in my area appear.

I have tried all that i can think of even system restore and restarting, but the truth is i have no idea what to do. Please help.

PS- i am operating on Windows 7 64 bit, on a HP G61-415SA

  • Why do you have to take laxatives before bed?

I was just wondering if there's a reason why the box says you can only take them before bed. I have a feeling it'll be some really obvious reason when i hear it, but i was wondering. I mean, compared to what. What would happen if you took them during the day instead?

  • Are there Scottish Leprechauns as well as Irish ones?

Ok, so the reason i ask is I was watching a tv show (Charmed), and in one of the episodes, a leprechaun said "In the name of St. Andrew"...who is of course the patron saint of Scotland not Ireland. Now, as someone who used to get Scotland and Wales mixed up i could see that mistake, but pretty much everyone knows St. Patrick is the Irish patron saint. i also know that Scotland and Ireland do share some history, such as the Celtic link. I searched but found no clear and straight forward answer sooooo,

Are there Scottish leprechauns as well as Irish ones, or did the script writers make a mistake?

  • Can anyone help me remember what these trousers are called?

Ok, so going back about 10 years ago i had these pants i really loved they were a bit like cargo pants, they were black and had lots of pockets running down the legs, but they had strips of the same fabric they were made of attached randomly about them, hanging down.

The problem is i don't remember what they were called, so if anyone could help i'd be very grateful.

  • Can i add bleach to my hair colourant?

I have brown hair, and want to go a wild colour like a funky purple or a bright pink, but with my hair being the colour it is it needs bleaching first, however my hair grows rather fast and by the time i put the colour on my roots have grown out again and my hair looks a disaster, so i was wondering if there was a way i'd be able to add the peroxide to the colour and get the desired effect, and if so, how much bleach would i be required to add?

  • What are the reasons for there not being a blood pressure reading?

I've just been for a blood pressure check and bloods taken for testing. The head nurse attempted to take my blood pressure 4 times, twice with an electronic cuff and twice with a manual cuff. She tested both arms and neither gave a reading. Apart from the possibility of a faulty instruments; what reasons could there be for this.

Also, in case it's relevant, she was able to take 4 vials of blood. So it wasn't a complete failure.

    All help is appreciated.

  • What kind of spell or charm would i need to help my street?

Ok, so my street is having a few accident prone moments lately...from dogs taking people for flying lessons and they end up with blood poisoning to trips and falls, to aggravating back injuries after falling down stairs, etc. People can't stop injusring themselves, and as a practitioner of sorts i wanted to know if there's anything i can do...perhaps something to cleanse the spirit of the street, or some kind of luck/karma improvement charm. Any help is really appreciated. xx

  • Is it possible to hate yourself for being a heterosexual?

I've heard of some Lesbians/Gays/Homosexuals/LGBTs hating themselves for what they are and sometimes refusing to admit to themselves and others what they are, hence sort of living a lie of a life. I was wondering if it could go another way...Could you possibly hate yourself for being attracted to men, could you possibly hate yourself for being attracted to anybody?
