  • 13" MacBook Pro vs 15"?

I've never had a Mac before and am looking to get one for Christmas. I don't know much about computers so i'm not sure which would be the better option. I am going to be traveling a lot in the future and going to college so I want something that I can transport easily. I'm not really sure the differences between the two computers besides screen size and price so I would love some input. Thanks!

  • Toll House cookies came out flat?

I just baked some cookies using the recipe on the back of the chocolate chip bag and the cookies came out completely flat. I followed the directions but when I tasted the dough it was really soft and creamy like I added too much butter or something. Is there anything I can do to salvage this batch?

  • Really bad separation anxiety?

I have always had anxiety about being away from my mom but right now it is really bad. I just found out that she is spending the night at my grandmothers and I am so distraught. No one understands how serious and upsetting this is, my dad just told me to "suck it up". I don't know what to do right now. Any advice?

Also, please don't answer this if you don't answer this if you don't know what it is like to have anxiety disorder. It isn't something that you can just "get over".

  • Irritated, itchy ear piercings?

When I first got my ears pierced 10 years ago I never had any problems with infection or irratation. I got them pierced with 14k gold earrings but would also sometimes wear the cheap silver kind. Lately, whenever I try to wear earrings in those holes they get irratated, to the point where I have to take my earrings out because it hurts. I only wear 14k gold earrings in those holes now but it doesn't help. About 2 years ago I got a second hole in both my ears. I again got 14k gold earrings and that is all I wear in them (and I rarely change earrings). I took them out the other day and just now after putting them back in the holes have become super itchy to the point where that it is uncomfortable. Why is this happening? My mom sometimes borrows my earrings, could that be why?

  • How long should I feel ill after drinking milk if I am lactose intolerant?

I had some milk yesterday afternoon and all last night I felt really crummy. I had a stomach ache, diarrhea and was really tired. I drank a bottle of gatorade and then I went to bed. This morning I woke up wicked bloated so I took a peppermint oil pill. That seemed to help a lot but I still had a bit of a tummy ache. After eating this afternoon I've had a few bouts of painful, watery diarrhea, as well as an upset stomach. Is it possible that the milk I had yesterday is still bothering me? Or do I have a stomach bug?

  • Not sure if friendship is worth it?

    Hi All,

I need some on my friendship with my best friend Dan. We have been friends for 12 years but lately I feel like we aren't close anymore. I find that whenever we hang out he just talks about his life and gossips about other people. I am going through a tough time right now (my aunt was diagnosed with cancer) and he doesn't seem to understand how difficult it is for me. The other day when I told him that she may not survive and he just said "aw" and then started talking about college applications. I'm not even asking for his sympathy, I just want someone to talk to about it. Now whenever he asks to hang out I always say no and can't explain why. I guess I feel like everything we used to talk about is so petty and immature. I'm not mad at him, I just think that i'm out growing him. I have ignored his texts and calls for the past couple of days because I don't know what to say to him. What do you guys think I should do? I'm not sure if our friendship is even worth it anymore.

  • Stuffy/runny nose and plugged ear?

I have had a really itchy, sometimes runny, sometimes stuffy nose and a plugged up ear for the past couple days. My ear is the worst when I wake up in the morning. When I blow my nose it kind of hurts my ear and temporarily unblocks it. I haven't been swimming in weeks so I don't think I have swimmers ear or anything. Could this be allergies? A cold? Thanks!

  • Vaginal discharge, odor, and itch?

I have had this problem for a long time and nothing seems to help. I shower daily and wash down there but the odor always comes back. Lately my discharge has been lumpy and today it had a green tinge to it. The sides (usually the right) of my vagina are also very itchy and I have to scratch them until they are almost raw. I sometimes have little pimples on the lips of my vagina too. Also, I have never had sex in my life. I am really worried though that it is herpes or something. I know I should go to the doctor but i'm embarrassed!

  • Should I shave my head?

I have trichotillomania and am having a lot of trouble covering my bald spots. My hair is very long ( mid back) except for the top of my head where I pull from. I have about half an inch of hair on the top. I have been wearing a baseball cap because I cannot cover the bald spots, but I feel really self conscious sometimes. I have been considering shaving my head but i'm not really sure if I should. I am overweight and as dumb as this sounds, I am terrified I will look horrible and like a fat man with a shaved head. That is really the only option because I do not want to wear a wig. I would get a weave or extensions but there is not enough hair on the top of my head to do that. What do you guys think I should do? Are there any options I haven't thought of?

  • Should I stay up or try to sleep?

    Hi All,

It is 1:45 am and I cannot fall asleep. I have had this problem for a few weeks and thought I solved it by pulling an all nighter on the fourth of July. I went to bed that night at my normal time and woke up around 10 am (which is good for me). Last night though I found myself falling back into my old routine, going to bed at 2 or 3 and waking up at 1. I really don't want to waste my summertime sleeping and being unproductive! Now I am afraid that if I go to bed I will wake up late in the afternoon again. Should I try to go to bed (mind you it will probably be around 3 am as I am not tired now) or should I stay up all night and try to get to bed early tomorrow? I don't have work or anything tomorrow so it wouldn't be a big deal if I was sort of tired and cranky. I really am stumped on what to do so I would really appreciate if you guys could help me out! Thanks!

  • How to reset my internal alarm clock?

    Hi All,

I seem to be having a big problem falling asleep at night and it is really starting to get on my nerves. I am 17 years old and since the beginning of June I have had a lot of trouble getting to bed in decent season. Before school ended I noticed that I was going to bed and sleeping later than usual on the weekends but didn't really think much of it. I would still go to bed around midnight on school nights, but I had to wake up early for class so it wasn't a huge deal. Now that it is summer I have been going to bed as late as 4 am and sleeping until around 2 or 3 pm. I feel bad when I do this because I have missed a good chunk of the day. I tried setting my alarm clock to wake me up at a reasonable hour, but I did not even hear it go off. Last night though was the worst my sleeping has been. I pulled an all nighter because I wasn't tired but then ended up falling asleep around 7 am and slept into the late afternoon. Tonight I am worried I will be up all night again because it is 2:30 am and I am not tired. I want to be able to sleep normally again but I just can't seem to. I don't want to keep wasting my summer sleeping! What would you guys advise me to do? Also, do you think this is insomnia?

  • How to avoid diarrhea on a flight?

I am going to be flying for four hours tomorrow and am really worried about my IBS flaring up. I will get horrible diarrhea after I eat, but sometimes I won't at all. I was thinking of taking an anti diarrhea (I don't take these often) because they plug me up a little, or not eating at all. I think not eating would be the best route for me but I will have been awake for 8 hours when I finally get a chance to eat. I don't want to be starving, but that is a much better option than having diarrhea on a plane. What do you guys think I should do?

  • Why don't more "normal" sized stores sell plus sizes?

Wouldn't it make them more money if they did? Considering 34% of Americans are obese, it seems like it would be worth it to produce lager sizes. I know some may say that it is "supporting" obesity, but from a business perspective I think it makes sense. Anyone have opinions on this? Also, does anyone know of stores that do do this?

  • How to avoid an uncomfortable situation with trich...?

Once every two weeks I have a class that the Pledge of Allegiance is recited during. I have always been taught to remove my hat out of respect and I would like to continue doing so, but I have a problem. I wear a hat to school because I have hard to cover bald spots on my head (from trichotillomania) and I always get so stressed out about that class where they say the Pledge. For obvious reasons (embarrassment mostly) I really don't want to have to take off my hat. I don't know what to do! I was late to the class last week so I missed the Pledge, but I am afraid my teacher will get mad if I am late again. Should I ask to go to the bathroom right before the announcement? Or maybe go to the nurse? If any of you have ideas they would be greatly appreciated. Again, I mean no disrespect by not wanting to remove my hat, I am just afraid to do so. Thank you.

  • How do I figure out if a stocks e/p is high or low?

I am doing a project for my economics class and it asks if the e/p of my stock is high or low. I know what the e/p is but I have no idea how to tell if it is high or low. Please help! Thanks.

P.S. It would be helpful if it could be explained as simply as possible, I don't really understand much about the stock market :p

  • Earache..what can I take for pain?

I have an ear infection I think and my ear feels like it is throbbing. I took some ibuprofen around 7 and it seems to have worn off. I would take more but I just drank a shot and a half of vodka. I know I shouldn't mix alcohol and pain killers so what should I do? Are there any meds I can take? Should I try applying heat to my hear? Thank you.

  • Should I be worried about this cat bite?

About a half hour ago I was playing with my cat when he bit me wicked hard and left 4 small bite marks (and a scratch mark from his back claw) on my arm. The bite itself immediately got all swollen and red so I washed them with soap and warm water. Now it is still just as swollen, red and feels warm to the touch. It doesn't hurt or anything, I am just worried it might be infected. What should I do?

  • Could I have a yeast infection?

For the past few months my vaginal area has been very, very itchy so I've been applying diaper ointment to the itchy area. I also have been taking probiotic pills from the health food store in case it was from yeast. Lately though I've noticed that I've been getting a lot of acne all over (a bunch on my chin, one on my arm, and a couple on my thighs) but I only have one pimple which is sore on my vagina. I am also a little stinky down there. Does this sound like a yeast infection? If it is should I go to the doctor or continue taking the probiotics and wait it out? Thank you!
