  • time off work due pregnancy?

I was just wondering what type of benefit's are available when pregnant. I am in full time employment doing perm nights. my work is physically demanding and involves chemicals. I have just found out i am pregnant. my question is i don't think i will be able to work till maternity leave is due. i just wondered if i was signed of work due to pregnancy problems what money i would be entitled to. I only get statutory sick pay which works out to about £85.00 per week. so cant afford to stay off if that was the case. but i know for a fact i wouldn't be able to get my duties changed so i could continue with work.

    thanks hope that made sense.

  • Does anyone know where I can buy shakiras top she wore at glastonbary?

Hi was watching Glastonbury yesterday and saw shakiras performance. She was wearing a long White vest top with a skull design that has a snake pattern in it. The designers logo looked like a big Q which inside has a lil c. Thanks looked everywhere on the Internet.

  • Is 6 weeks to young for a mastiff puppy to leave its mum?

Hi i have alot of experiences with dogs but usually get pups at 8weeks old. The last pup i was stung with and she was only 4weeks old (i was told 8 weeks but the vet said she was only 4 weeks anway!) I understand the socialsiation of the pup and learning with its litter mates s crucial at 5-8 weeks but i have 3 other dogs so wont it learn from them. My 4 week old has overcome everything even thuogh i had alot of work for me to-do but shes a happy healthy dog now!

the pup is an english mastiff so would prefere getting it abit younger so he learns to be gentle with my smaller breed dogs.

  • My little dog has just come into season what shall i do about exercising her?

Hi i have had dogs all my life but only males. I have 3 small male neutered dogs and one un-spayed small female (this is her 1st season so i was told by a vet i had to wait after her season before neutering). I take all my dogs out together and they are all off lead. But im unsure what to-do about her. I don't want to leave her in on her own and she hates being carried around the park. But i don't want her to come in to contact with any other males. as my males who probably fight to protect her? also obviously don't want her getting pregnant.

sorry this may be a really stupid question but im great with male dogs but dont know much about females.

    thanks and best wishes kim

  • DAP and ZYLKENE used on Dogs?

Hi i have 3 male dogs all neutered and get on great together. They are 2 1/2 years old 15months old and 7 months old. Now ive received several complaints from my new neighbours about the dogs barking. Ive lived in 2 previous address and no one has ever complained. the dogs are well used to me going out for a few hours a day. Ive left them for like 15minutes and waited outside the door and they have stopped barking in a minute and sem to settle ive also done this for 30 mins and nothing. when i return from longer trips they have not been barking. They do obviously bark sometime like when i can come in or at the postman but the barking only last for about a minute tops. Ive tried talking to next door but hes quite aggressive. Ive never been nothing but nice and even offered to give him my mobile number so if they do bark i will get home asap! Im just worried about losing my dogs. I hardly ever go out anymore and only leave when i know next door are out. Ive missed allot of uni as i am worried for his reaction. I don't want to upset anyone. I don't want to use anti barking collars as ive used them before and they would go off if another dog barked or the dog even scratched. So are these DAP and Zylkene alternatives are any good? Just so worried now. I also walk my dogs before going out and leave the telly on with toys and chews.

  • Introducing male baby guinea pigs

Hi I already had 4 male guineas living really happy in a very large cage they are about 12weeks old. I rescued today a mum and 4 babies. 2 of the babies are female so i have a seperate cage for them and the mum. Now the baby male cavy is 5weeks old and i introduced him to my 4males and they were humping him and he was getting quite scared. Now is this cause maybe he smells of the females or a dominance thing?

Ive removed the male baby and put him in a box but unsure whether to try and find him a new home asap or try and introduce him back into my gang of males?any advice would be great. Dont have anymore room for another large indoor cage, and cant keep him outside as i have dogs that use outside for the toilet area.

  • Can female dogs be born without a utureus and ovaries?

hi ive recently had to give me female pup to a new home:( She was 61/2 months when she went and i never had her neutured. She is a rhodisain ridgeback and had a great pedgree from respectible breeder. The new owners decided to get her neutured and when the vet opended her up all there was, was scar tissue so it looked liked she had been neutured. I phoned the breeder but they had no clue i thought that they were puttin me off a bit though. Ive had this pup from 12weeks and saw her at 9weeks. So is the breeder not tellin me sumthink or could she be born without her bits?

  • Male or female dobe?

Im getting a doberman in a few weeks but not sure what sex to get? Ive got a small cross breed male dog who is neutured he lives with a female mastiff now and loves her. but im movin into my own place in a few weeks and the mastiff is my mums and cant come.

Ive had a doberman before and he was amazing the easiest dog by far (expect the walks!).

But he was a male and didnt like other dogs he wouldnt attack them he stayed well clear off them and when one did attack him he'd just stand there!

Any information would be great. As im in two minds, i prefear male dogs but would a female get o n better with the little male.

If i did get a male would he need to be neutured aswell?

    Thanks sorry to go on!

  • Is it ok to feed a dog a mainly meat diet?

Is he getting enough nutrition from just eating meat. Ive had terrible trouble getting him to eat. Ive tried everythink all different brands of foods dry and canned! One day he'll eat some then the next nothing. Ive mixed meat into his dry food but he just takes his time picking out the meat. Ive been really patient and stopped giving him treats but he will go 5 days before eating and just look at his bowl like im not eating that! Ive changed his bowls and everythink. Ive spent alot of money and buy quality food from my vet, but nothing! Somethimes he even wont eat chicken if hes had it the day before. The vet has run tests and theres nothing wrong!

So will he get most nutrients from eating meat or any other ideas?

Thanks i no this may sound stupid but ive never had a dog that is so fussy and headstrong. Hes been the same since 8weeks old.

  • Aggresion/ guarding problem in puppy?

    Hi help

i have a 10month old daschund cross pup (had him since he was 8 weeks old). I was told he was a dominat dog so i got him neutured at 6 months old. Ive never had a problem with him i can take food out of his mouth take toys of him ect. Hes been well socialised since he was a pup, gone everywhere with me. But recently a couple of incidents have worried me.

He has always been great of the lead and loved playing with other dogs, but yesterday a dog ran over and he went for the other dog. This has happened twice. And today i had to pick up my little cousins from school and when a child came over to him to stroke him he growl and barked aggresively. He also wet himself! He was shaking and growling. He is always guarding the house and follows me round everywhere and when we meet someone new he wont leave my side. We also got a new pup 4 weeks ago.

I am really shaken, is there anything i can do to stop this? I thought he was a confiedent dog who loves people and other dogs?

  • Should i complain to my dog groomer?

Ive been to this dog groomer twice before and have always stayed with my dog. But this time barney was going with my anties dog Daisy, so i decided to leave him. I thought they would be around 3 hours as Barney usually takes 2 hours. But an hour later i was called to collect the dogs. The groomer said she had accediently cut a wart of my dogs belly ( i never noticed a wart before and i groom him everyday and notice everythink). But he was really short so i was shocked as he looked like a different dog so never took much notice of the gash and left. I paid her £25.00 or around $55.00. When i got home the coat was very patchy and uneven. The gash on his stomach was deep and he also had a nasty one on the base of his tail!

Shall i complain, or just leave it? How could she cut him so bad?

    Thanks for all your answers!
